Baby Fish do do, do do da do

This little lady spent an honest 2 weeks practicing in the backyard with that little Barbie fishing pole. It was the cutest thing in the world. Casting out into the lawn and reeling it in all by herself. Grandpa E. got her going on it, and all in preparation for this big day:

...and we went to McCall

If you know me (or read my blog) you may remember hearing about McCall. Rain or shine, warm or cold, hands down my favorite place. We had a weekend to get away, which doesn't come often enough during tax season, so we made the trip and played hard!

Sorry for all of the pictures. Well, not too sorry. Just trying to figure out this new camera!

Favorite Things

As tradition, mia familia watches General Conference every Fall in McCall, Id. I can't wait! There is nothing better than sitting around the fire listening to latter day Prophets fill your heart with uplifting messages.
And better yet, eating yummy food and lounging around all day!

I'll wake up after sleeping in, maybe shower, maybe not. Maybe put my makeup on, eat an awesome breakfast of huckleberry pancakes, probably stay in my jammies, and then turn the TV on. In between sessions I'll change in to my cleaner not-slept-in jammies and go on a walk in the crisp fall air down to the lake. Doesn't that sound like relaxing? Oh and the naps I'll take! They are glorious.

There is no agenda really, just pure entertainment. literally

Wait a second...that was before I had kids. Ha!

Much of it might still be the same, but entertaining the kiddos provides another dimension to General Conference. A 2 almost 3 year old won't sit around and watch old guys talk on TV, so here is what I do.
Lots of different coloring books, snacks, sticker books, snacks, toys, snacks, an i pad with awesome games, and snacks. Did I mention snacks?

Really, this is one of my most favorite things. My "Thoughts of Spiritual Uplift" journal might go untouched as I wrestle the kids, but that doesn't mean that I won't listen intently and get the most out of every talk. And can I mention the music? I don't believe in rushing off to go do something while the choir sings. Sometimes that can be just as powerful as listening to the talks.

As far as I know, General Conference is aired on BYU TV, but check your local listings. You can also listen on line at the above listed link. Enjoy your weekend, I will!

Annual McCall trip

Warning: A lot of pictures!

McCall was so great! How could it not be? Only thing to make it better would have been TyRell there with us. Nonetheless, we had a great time!

After doing some skiing on the boat, Bristol sat on my wet lap. This made her have to "go" if ya know what I mean. So we had to strip her naked! She made the walk up to the cabin very entertaining, stopping to pick flowers on the way.

My little Diva!

Roasting smores. An Erekson family favorite...
Both moms and all three grandkids! What a shot!

Nana and Grandad along for a boat ride.

Bristol loves her ice cream. Doesn't get much better than Ice Cream Alley! We love it there! HUGE scoops for not much! Bristol's favorite is "pink" ice cream. The mixture of pink ice cream and hot weather made quite a mess!
Bristol's first tube ride!
"Faster Grandpa!"
Home made ice cream...mmmmm!

Uncle Grant brought home the BEST hammocks from his mission in Brazil. We had too much fun being lazy in them together!

Boise/McCall Part 2

I have been a terrible blogger lately. I just noticed today that I had a "Boise Part 1" forever ago, and never gave you "Part 2!" I'll just call it placenta brain... Anyway, here it is!
McCall is the BEST in the summer. My favorite place ever. We had a blast, and of course time went by way too fast. But here are a few of our daily activities!

Bristol and Grandpa driving the boat. She was very independant at doing so! Even tried out the throttle!

Early morning water skiing just can't be beat! And for 3 almost 4 months pregnant, not too bad!
Don't tell the Dr. He might get mad. I toook it easy though!

My parents have this huge tube that fits a ton of people on it. It's pretty fun! Our own little party bardge!

The two "little's" on the four wheeler.

Soon to come, "The Stevens visit Canada."
